Our closest McDonalds

On Tuesday we travelled over the border to Chile. It is quite different to Peru. It was good to visit there. Our closest McDonalds is also located there, although we resisted the temptation to go in! We can now stay in Peru for another 120 days and then we get to go to Chile again!
At 5 o´clock tomorrow morning we are heading to Puno where we will be until next Wednesday. Apparently it has been raining a lot and there are pretty bad thunder storms. Its at an altitude of around 4000m above sea level so please pray that we will all stay healthy. Please pray for Chris (one of the team members) as he is unable to come with us due to health reasons. He is fine but please pray that he wont feel like he is missing out. While we are there we hope to help give out Christmas presents to children. We hope that this will be a great experience for us all.

Dear Roberta,
I suppose you are aware that we had the children's Christmas party last Saturday. The children seem to come from everywhere on these occasions. With the food, chocolate and presents there was no mention of your presence. However I'm sure I can speak for all the adults when I say you were missed.I have not been attending meetings on a regular basis recently. The flu I had last month and which I thought I got over has come back to haunt me.I'm sure you know the feeling one gets.We are having our Christmas dinner this Saturday and I am going to make the effort to attend as like the children I would be afraid of missing something. Is there any sign of Christmas in Chile and Peru. I normally do my Christmas shopping on Christmas eve. It has its advantages; the shops are less crowded and the January sales have started.
Thats enough tittle-tattle from me. It is great that you are able to mix the serious business of missionary work with more relaxing and travelling times. The constant returning to Chile to renew visas etc. could be frustrating, however it will not matter where you are as long as you are close to the Lord.I don't think I have ever been in a McDonalds in my life. I hope you are getting plenty of good healthy food like rice, etc. There is so much you can do with rice. My favourite way to eat it is when it is processed by "Mr. Ambrosia" Roberta, dear, don't be loitering under any trees in a thunderstorm, or for that matter driving a car without a chain dragging on the ground. I have been praying for Chris that God will draw close and look after him and restore his health so that once again he can take an active part in the mission. Christianity and the joy of giving is a most spiritual experience. These dear children will feel blessed but the giver always receives the greater blessing.
Newlady sends her love. God bless you for your faithfullness,
Newgent.
