Last week of work!

We are currently in Tacna working alongside the Pan de Vida church. We will be responsible for the midweek meetings, cell groups, open air childrens clubs, the youth meeting and the Sunday Services. This is our last week of work before having a well earned break at Christmas!
We will spend Christmas together as a team in Ite. Then the Peruvians will be returning home for about a week. We will be going to stay with David & Alicia Murphy during this time.
Please pray for the parents of Sara (one of the team members). They are not Christians, but they have been attending the church in Ite quite regularly over the last few months. Also pray that we would have a refreshing break over Christmas and that we would all be ready to start working hard again in the new year.

Dear Roberta,
I had a smashing time at the pensioner's ball last Saturday. Everyone of any importance, from the Iron Hall, except you, was there. Mind you, you might not have qualified. You were certainly too young for the ""bus pass" and, possibly, too old for the YP, who looked after us. Ally seemed to be mistress of ceremonies as she always was on the microphone. Stephen must have had his hands full with all those turkeys. I wouldn;t like to have had the job of plucking and gutting them. He certainly deserves credit for serving 93 places. Newlady and I thought we'ed give him a rest by staying away from the Iron Hall dinner for all ages. Anyway at the end of the day it was Jeffrey Donaldson's sister who fed them.
It is spiritual uplifting to read this post and as I do so, reflect on how the Lord has blessed this mission. We will continue to pray for everyone you mention as well as you, Simon and the rest of the team. Most important is the constant prayer for those not saved. I have quoted you this verse from Isaiah as I like it and its for us.
God bless you for your faithfulness, Roberta,
Newgent

My Dear Roberta,
As another year unfolds it gives us time to reflect on the blessings the Lord has bestowed on us this past year. As I browsed over the posts from last year my heart was truly gladdened to see the Lord's work with the mission. There are at least two reasons why God wants you in Peru; namely, He loves you very much and He loves Peru and its people very much. Sometimes I just let myself go in exuberant adoration. Prayer is good but it can dwell too much on ourselves. Thanks are right at the appropriate time but surely exuberant praise is best as the heart forgets itself, earth and time with its enlarged ideas of its Saviour. 1 Kings 10 v.9.
Newlady and I had a smashing time over Christmas. We were invited for Christmas lunch with some friends. The food was marvellous and the games good fun. If your good at acting and with a bit of bravado, you should do well at the charades. I did not play postman's knock. I could never understand it. Perhaps if the lights were left on you could see what to do. Newladys dosed off again; must be the turkey. I told her she's lucky its not rice. The Christmas Festivities started together with the Lord and at the Iron Hall. They ended together with the Lord and at the Iron Hall at the Watchnight service. There were some set pieces including "yours truly" (again). I could hardly hear a word she said but it must have been ok for she got a few hear- hears. Always thinking of you in my prayers, God bless you, Roberta.
Yours etc., Newgent.
